Yannis in town with Kunst-Stoff for the DUMBO Arts Festival. His piece, an excerpt from a longer dance called Un State, saved the show: Nicole Bonadonna and John Mercke in an extraordinary pas de deux. The crowd, otherwise moribund, came alive, cheering and clapping pretty wildly at the end. Even the obnoxious shutterfly photographer snapping away in the silences was unable to ruin the moment. Following is a clip of Un State done elsewhere with the full company. Sadly, it does not include the part I saw. But some of Mercke's dancing at the end gives you a notion....
