Directions redux...(and Starfish Taxi)
Getting to East Hampton without a car is not a problem. There is the Long Island Railroad, two bus companies, and several options involving both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Following are directions and various relevant links. We'll be picking people up at most of the obvious train arrivals (and some buses.) So, when you know your arrival time, give the Barn a call: 631.329.0559.
Car:
* Take Long Island Expressway (495 East) to Exit 70 (Manorville)
* Go right at off ramp.
* 8-10 miles to dead end, take detour and continue in same direction on Sunrise Highway.
* ~20 miles, merge on to Montauk Highway 27 East
* Stay on 27 through Southampton, Watermill, Bridgehampton
* Arrive East Hampton, turning left to stay on 27 (on to Main Street.)
* At main light (at Newtown Ln. in front of movie theaters) stay to the left of the windmill
* Go under train bridge, go through 2 or 3 lights, bear right at fork on to Springs Fireplace Rd.
* Stay on Fireplace Rd. for 7 miles. We are the last house on the left: 1251 Fireplace Rd.
