15 Day Forecast, Fresh Lemons,
15 Day Forecast, Fresh Lemons, and Helpful Info
With just about two weeks to go, Sara Kate and Maxwell appear to remain quite in love. They are still wearing each other's engagement ring and can be seen hanging out together all the time. He's been lingering around the Barney's suit racks (all on the hush, hush), and, I happen to know - from sources in Brooklyn -- that The Dress is nearing completion. Meanwhile, as I type, the two are heading to Grand Central Station for a mysterious meeting with the "officiant," one David Rome....In short, wedding prep. is in full gear, and everyone is very excited to see You. So we've added some more info below to help you make your plans. Check it out, and if you have questions or need further guidance or wish to offer advice, don't hesitate to write or call. (Contact Info.)
First, a calendar of events for the weekend:
- Thursday Night: Family will be dining together at Jim and Lisa Ryan's place. Campers who arrive are welcome to take a dip in the bay, settle into their tents, and get to know each other.
- Friday Morning: Yoga! For those interested, there will be early morning yoga (8:30 a.m.), Friday through Sunday. (Bring a mat if you've got one.)
- Friday Night: All wedding guests are warmly invited to join us Friday evening for a down home, Barn-style bar-b-que. The affair will kick off at 6:30PM and will be hosted by Mary Ryan, Chester Hopkins, Oliver (Yours Truly), and friends. Margaritas will be served and dress is casual. For those coming from afar, a brisk swim in the Bay before dinner is advised.
- Saturday: Yoga in the morning...and then hang out. Perhaps go to the ocean beach, or drive to Montauk and have lunch at the lobster roll or the clam shack, or check out Longhouse reserve, or mill about East Hampton oggling the crowds in Hummers...OR just stay put and sit by the Bay...
- Saturday 5:00 p.m. Umm, the wedding, and then all that other stuff. Great band. Dress is "Summer You." Summer dresses, light coats, interesting ties. Excellent suits. Really nice sandals can work well with linen pants for men. Some guys look good in bolos. I'm not so good on the women, but I hear someone is wearing a prom dress. Do be aware that the band will be unstoppable, and you'll want footware that allows for both swing and salsa.
- Sunday: Yoga for anyone awake at 8:30 a.m. And BRUNCH, hosted by Karen, at the White House a little later on -- things should be up and running by 10:30 a.m.
That's it for now. More to come as we get closer.
